US President Donald Trump confirmed that he has influenced Russian military decisions over its counter-offensive in Kursk in the recent days. In tweet and also during a press conference, President Trump admitted that he asked President Putin to spare the lives of Ukrainian soldiers. He also said that Ukrainian soldiers are currently surrounded.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces denied that any of its troops are encircled. Fighting is taking place in the perimeter of Kursk outside of Sudhza which has been fully retaken by the Russia. On the other hand, Russian soldiers in Kursk have confirmed that their commanders ordered them not to shoot at fleeing Ukrainian troops.
The Russians recaptured Kursk in a swift and surprise attack from the Ukrainian Armed Forces following the US temporary withdrawal of military aid and intelligence sharing to Ukraine. Ukrainian soldiers also suspected that their positions in Kursk were being given away by Starlink, an allegation which Elon Musk denied.
