Russia launches 63 drones against Ukrainian cities after Putin agrees on energy and infrastructure ceasefire

Yesterday night, Russia launched up to 63 Shahed drones against civilian, energy and infrastructure targets in Ukrainian cities. The attacks came following a phone call between President Trump and President Putin, during which Putin supposedly agreed on an energy and civilian infrastructure ceasefire.

The Ukrainians retaliated by launching a successful hit against Russia’s oil terminal in Kavkazskaya town of Krasnodar Krai. According to the White House statement issued yesterday, the agreement would entail Russia halting its attacks against Ukrainian civilians in exchange for the Ukrainians to stop targeting Russia’s oil industry.

An electric substation in Slovyansk was hit by a Russian drone leaving half of the city without electricity. A hospital in Sumy was also hit. Kyiv and other cities were also targeted in the attacks.

Former Russian President and Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev applauded the phone call between the US and the Russian presidents in one of his signature drunken rants.

France and the UK and now hopefully Germany need to double down. UK, Italy and Japan are developing a 6th gen fighter via GCAP. France and Germany need to ensure that any potential initiative complements not hinders. This cannot be about export numbers but European survival. Good on Canada for agreeing to a destroyer design based on the T26 frigate. No nonsense from Canada. Well done.
