Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a declaration of war a day following massive strikes against Gaza which killed up to 250 people including many children and women. the Israeli Defence Forces also issued a list of Hamas leaders which says it killed during the strikes, including the latest Hamas Prime Minister of Gaza, Essam al-Dalis.
Premier Netanyahu blamed Hamas for the continuation of the war saying they broke the ceasefire agreement, and blamed Hamas for refusing to release the hostages. However, there is no evidence that Hamas broke the ceasefire agreement as Hamas released Israeli hostages according to the schedule of the agreed ceasefire plan. Israel on the other refused to abide with the ceasefire agreement by refusing to enter into discussions to pull out of Gaza following the release of the first set of hostages.
Airstrikes and artillery shelling continued in Gaza last night, resulting in dozens of casualties. Meanwhile, families of the remaining hostages in Gaza protested in Tel Aviv against the resumption of the war.
