Trump and Putin want ceasefire in Ukraine to start with halt on energy and infrastructure attacks

The White House has just issued a statement outlining the main points agreed upon between President Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin during their phone call. The US and Russia’s president want a ceasefire in Ukraine, beginning with a halt to attacks on energy and infrastructure.

Meanwhile, Ukraine is currently targeting Russia’s oil industry infrastructure using its locally developed ballistic missile, Neptune, which has a range of up to 1200 km. Ukraine’s attacks on the Russian oil industry have severely impacted its refining production, dealing a significant blow to Russia’s revenues and logistical capacities. On the other hand, Russia has maintained regular attacks on Ukraine’s energy and electricity infrastructure leading to frequent blackouts ion Ukrainian cities.

The statement by the White House also mentioned “enormous economic deals” that could be made between the US and Russia should peace be struck.

Consistent pressure by the US on Ukraine to capitulate to Russia and cede territory has led to successes by the Russian military in the battlefield.

In a separate statement, the Kremlin reiterated its demands for a halt of Western arms provisions to Ukraine, a halt in intelligence sharing and an end to Ukraine’s mobilisation.

  1. You forgot to mention the “trump” card, a hockey match between the two. Pathetic. Eager to see how France and the UK respond to this or rather what comes out of the operational phase currently being planned and to be discussed on Thursday. Not expecting much from others including Italy who have now closed the door on sending troops to Ukraine. Bullies keep winning.
