Russia launches hundreds of Iranian drones against Ukrainian cities and civilians across the weekend

Russia killed multiple Ukrainian civilians over the weekend as it launched targeted strikes against various civilian locations using hundreds of Iranian drones. On Friday night, Russia hit the Bartolomeo Best River Resort in the city of Dnipro during a busy evening. The attacks continued on Saturday night, with Iranian-made Shahed drones launched against several cities, including Kyiv. A military hospital in Kharkiv was also struck. At least 27 people were killed in the Kharkiv strike earlier that night.

President Trump has claimed that Russia was adhering to a civilian infrastructure ceasefire that the White House announced and said that Russia would face stiff consequences if it violated the ceasefire including new sanctions. US Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff also reiterated that Russia was adhering to the civilian ceasefire deal.

Russia is now to be given safe passage in the Black Sea and sanctions relief for its state-owned agricultural bank in what is being called a “Black Sea ceasefire”. Russia will also be able to sell stolen Ukrainian grain. Russia bombed Ukrainian civilians every single day since the White House’s announcement of a civilian ceasefire deal.
