Yesterday, at the White House, President Donald Trump said that he is currently dividing Ukrainian territories with Russia’s President Vladimir Putin in order to finalise a “peace contract”. In a separate press conference, President Zelensky reiterated that Ukraine had accepted an unconditional ceasefire and it was Russia that refused this proposal.
President Trump added that he had agreed to a partial ceasefire with President Putin and that it is currently holding well. Trump and Putin supposedly agreed on an energy and infrastructure ceasefire on Tuesday. Since the agreed ceasefire, Russia has fired drones and missiles at Ukrainian cities and civilian infrastructure on the night following the phone call and on subsequent nights.
The energy and infrastructure ceasefire should supposedly halt Russia’s airstrikes against civilians and civilian infrastructure in exchange for a halt of Ukraine’s airstrikes against Russia’s oil infrastructure.
President Trump helped Russia regain Kursk by temporally suspending military aid and intelligence sharing with Ukraine, and also wants Ukraine to handover its mineral rights to the US. Lately, he also added Ukraine’s nuclear power stations to his list of demands.
