Russia reiterates its previous demands over Ukraine: rejects French and British troops in Ukraine

Spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maria Zakharova gave a press conference where she commented on the latest ceasefire proposal proposed by the United States. She stated that the proposal by the UK and France to station their troops in Ukraine is unacceptable and Russia would possibly respond to it with military means.

The spokesperson reiterated Russia’s previous demands for an end to its aggression in Ukraine. Russia expects Ukraine to give up the territory it recaptured during the invasion, however the spokesperson also stated the Russian government to issue “its independent assessment” about the conclusions of the Jeddah talks. She also condemned Europe’s military support for Ukraine, and reiterated that Ukraine can not join NATO.

During the ongoing talks and negotiations, the United States has been giving significant advantage to Russia at the expense of Ukraine.
