Russia spent the weekend firing Iranian-made Shahed drones and ballistic and cruise missiles at Ukrainian civilians. Targets which were successfully hit by Russia include a school in Staryi Saltiv in Kharkiv, an office building of the state-owned media outlet FreeDom, and a block of apartments in Kupiansk (feature photo) among other targets.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Russia fired a cruise missile from the Black Sea: a violation against the tentative and proposed ceasefire by the United States to provide safe passage for Russian ships in the Black Sea. Russia has violated and rejected both a US-proposed civilian ceasefire and a “Black Sea ceasefire”. Russia’s attacks against civilians have been conducted on a regular and daily basis ever since the US first announced the civilian ceasefire.
President Zelensy also condemned the statements made by the US Ambassador to Ukraine, Bridget A. Brink, for failing to attribute the recent attack on Kryvyi Rih to Russia. President Trump was supposed to impose new sanctions on Russia and for failing to adhere to the civilian ceasefire but President Trump has remained silent on Russia throughout its daily attacks against civilians.
