Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Ian Borg has condemned the killing of 15 Palestine Red Crescent Society aid workers in Gaza. The Foreign Minister called for an investigation and international law to be upheld.
10 aid workers from PRCS and 6 Civil Defense first responders were struck by the Israeli Defense Forces as they travelled to Rafah to conduct an emergency and rescue mission. Five ambulances, a fire-truck, and a UN vehicle were struck. Only one survivor remained.
Israel unilaterally withdrew from the ceasefire it signed with Hamas and renewed its bombing and military operations against Gaza. Meanwhile, Palestinians in Gaza have been out in the streets protesting against Hamas.
Malta has so far not committed itself to enforcing the arrest warrants issued by the International Criminal Court against Israel’s Prime Minister and former Defence Minister over war crimes in Gaza.
