President Trump says that Russia’s attack against civilians in Sumy was a mistake: Russians celebrate the attack

Yesterday, on Air Force One, President Trump said that Russia’s attack on Sumy that left up to 34 people dead and many others injured was a “mistake”. Russia has been bombing Ukrainian civilians on a daily basis since President Trump announced a civilian ceasefire in Ukraine. Meanwhile, Russians on Telegram were celebrating the attacks.

One of the victims in the Sumy attack was 34 year-old Olena Kohut, an organist with the Sumy National Theatre.

Russia bombed downtown Sumy while Ukrainians were holding a procession for Palm Sunday with two Iskander-M ballistic missiles, with one of the missiles confirmed to have been filled with cluster munitions and shrapnel for maximum dispersion effect.
