Malta’s Deputy Prime Minister describes Russia’s attack on Ukrainian civilians as “a cowardly act”

Malta’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs has condemned Russia’s attack on Ukrainian cities that happened earlier this week on Wednesday morning describing it as a “cowardly act”. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ian Borg has recently issued more condemnations against Russia, the latest being in response to the attack on Sumy.

Russia has stepped up its attacks against civilians as a means to pressure Ukraine to give in to the demands made by the United States to give up territory it has lost to Russia and end the war. Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that Ukraine won’t be giving up any of its territories to Russia.

Yesterday afternoon, President Donald Trump wrote a statement on his Truth Social network insisting with Vladimir Putin to “stop”. There were no reported casualties of Russian missile attacks on Kyiv following President Trump’s statement but a Russian missile strike in the Ukrainian city of Pavlohrad killed at least three people, including a child, early this morning.
