Israel kills up to 500 Palestinians in Gaza last week

The Palestinian death toll in Gaza reached a weekly high last week as Israel escalated its genocidal campaign in Gaza dropping bombs in densely populated areas across the whole of Gaza. The Gazan Civil Defence has told Al-Araby TV that Israel is killing up to 110 Palestinians in every day. More than 200 people were also reportedly killed today in Israel airstrikes and shelling during the past 24 hours.

Israel has escalated its bombing campaign of Gaza as it began conducting its genocidal plan called “Gideon’s Chariots“. Israel is also resuming the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza following pressure by the United States. Fissures between President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu are growing more apparent as Trump reiterates in his interviews and press conferences the need for aid to reach Palestinians in Gaza.

In his latest statement to the Israeli public in Hebrew, the Israeli Prime Minister explained that the Israel Defense Forces have intensified their military campaign to defeat Hamas and “liberate Israelโ€™s borders’ from the Golan Heights to Eilat”, as guided by a cabinet decision.

Hamas is offering Israel to return to ceasefire terms by exchanging the last remaining hostages with Palestinian prisoners. However, Hamas is refusing to surrender or to lay down its weapons. At the Arab Summit in Baghdad, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has reiterated his calls for Hamas to lay down its weapons and hand over its power of Gaza to the Palestinian Authority.

Protests against the genocide in Gaza took place across Europe during the weekend, including in Malta, and a protest in The Hague gathered tens of thousands of people. Protests also took place at the border of Gaza on the Israeli side.

The EU High Representative issued a condemnation against Israel “deploring” the deaths of children by Israeli airstrikes.
