Adrian Delia’s canvasser raises issue of new PN Leader after devastating survey result

As soon as a devastating survey result for the Opposition was published in the local press earlier today, Adrian Delia’s canvasser, Ġorġ Mallia, has already raised the issue of a new leader. Adrian Delia’s team has been conducting an unofficial campaign to change the leader of the Nationalist Party.

He is undoubtedly right, but Adrian Delia’s men are delusional to think that the Nationalist Party will start surging once again if they revert to an Adrian Delia styled-leadership with Alex Borg. At least, that’s what Adrian Delia’s canvassers have been rooting for. So has the Labour Party and many of its hacks.

The Labour Party prefers to back Adrian Delia and his ally Alex Borg, both for their refusal to engage on issues of corruption and because they are seen as leading an easy and incompetent Opposition that can be easily defeated. On the other hand, the Labour Party genuinely fears having to challenge a Nationalist Party with Roberta Metsola as its leader. On the other hand, the President of the European Parliament has shown no intention of taking on PN’s leadership role.

Bernard Grech is the weakest link. This has been clear in every single survey since he has been leader. He may have done a good job in fixing the infighting within the PN but as a leader he is dull and unappealing.
