Roberta Metsola releases statement denying leadership bid: says will be more involved in the Nationalist Party

President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola has released a statement denying that she will take on the leadership of the Nationalist Party, citing her responsibilities as President of the European Parliament. Metsola stated that she bears a great responsibility in her current role, particularly in these exceptional times, which demand her full attention.

The Nationalist Party publicly pressured ย Metsola to assume its leadership. However, while declining the position, President Metsola expressed her willingness to take on a larger role within the party and to support the upcoming leader in whatever capacity is deemed most beneficial for the party.

The Nationalist Party is now going through the grueling challenge of searching for a new leader for the party with Alex Borg being the most prominent and potential candidate so far.
