Congress Chair says he will shut down Congress to avoid vote on Epstein files: Ghislaine Maxwell subpoenaed

Congress Chair Mike Johnson said that he will be closing Congress for recess just on time to avoid a vote on the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files. Mike Johnson is trying to avoid a bipartisan bill called the Epstein Files Transparency Act (HR 4405) proposed by Republican House member Thomas Massie and Democrat Ro Khanna from reaching the House floor.

Meanwhile, Ghislaine Maxwell, Jeffrey Epstein’s co-conspirator who is serving up to 20 years in prison for her crimes has been subpoenaed by Republican Congressman Tim Burchett during a House Oversight and Government Reform subcommittee hearing. The subpoena was approved and Ghislaine Maxwell is now expected to testify in front of Congress.

Just as House members were calling for Ghislaine Maxwell to testify, the Department of Justice and the Attorney-General Pam Bondi, issued a statement saying that Ghislaine Maxwell will be called for questioning by the Department of Justice.

President Trump is currently creating many distractions to avoid discussing the Jeffrey Epstein case including by announcing the digitisation of the Martin Luther King files which were already publicly available, and a fake conspiracy called the Obama-Russia-hoax.
