House Republicans vote against the release of Epstein files: Ghislaine Maxwell ready to testify but also wants a retrial

Yesterday, in a Congressional committee, Republicans voted no against a proposal by the Democrats to publicly release the files of Jeffrey Epstein’s case. Democrat House representatives Ro Khanna from California, introduced an amendment to the Genius Act which demands the release of the Epstein files. The Genius act is President Donald Trump’s bill on crypto-currencies.

The House Rules Committee voted “No” on the amendment with 7 voting against the amendment and 5 in favour. Most of the Republicans voted against the amendment, but one Republican, Ralph Norman voted in favour. The members who voted against the amendment are Virginia Foxx, Michelle Fischbach, Erin Houchin, Nick Langworthy, Austin Scott, Morgan Griffiths and Brian Jack.

Meanwhile, according to the Daily Mail Jeffrey Epstein’s partner and co-conspirator, Ghislaine Maxwell is saying that she is ready to testify in front of Congress and reveal Jeffrey Epstein’s client list after the Department of Justice stated that Jeffrey Epstein’s client list doesn’t exist. Previously, Attorney-General Pam Bondi said that Jeffrey Epstein’s client list was on her desk.

However, Ghislaine Maxwell is now also arguing that she did not have a fair trial and will be fighting for a re-trail of her case following the latest developments and statements by the Department of Justice and the US President on the Jeffrey Epstein case. Ghislaine Maxwell was sentenced for twenty years in prison for sex trafficking of minors.

President Trump said that the Epstein files are “an invention by the radical left” after his Deputy FBI Director became critical of the handling of the case by the Attorney-General. The US President also said that he doesn’t want to talk about the case after he committed to release the Epstein client list during the election campaign.
