In a parliamentary conference organised by Jewish and Israeli settlers, the Minister for Finance Bezalel Smotrich presented a plan for the annexation of Gaza. The plan includes the the settlement of up to 1.2 million Jews in Gaza, the construction of up to 300,000 houses, and the establishment of a high-tech agricultural industry.
The conference included other Knesset members such as Zvi Sukkot and Limor Son Har-Melech, who co-chair the lobby for the renewal of settlements, alongside the popular settler activist Daniella Weiss of the Nachala movement.
Egypt released a statement and condemned any plans for the settlement of Gaza.
Famine is still ongoing in Gaza with Israel still refusing to allow the delivery of humanitarian aid. Trucks laden with food supplies at the border with Gaza are ready to be delivered. At least up to 37 people have died in Gaza in the past 24 hours due shooting, shelling and airstrikes by the IDF.
Meanwhile, a proposal by the US to re-settle Gazans in Libya has been rejected by Libyan MPs.
