In a statement that has been published recently, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky has reiterated Ukraine’s position over peace with Russia and stated that Ukraine will not reward Russia by giving up its territories. The Ukrainian President reiterated that Ukraine has to be taken into account on any peace deal. President Zelensky also said that those siding with Russia know that Russia is committing acts of evil and that Ukrainians will keep fighting for what is theirs.
President Zelensky’s position on the proposed peace by President Donald Trump has always been consistent as President Trump keeps pressuring Ukraine to give up its territory to Russia in exchange for peace. According to some press statements, Russia is even demanding territory in Donetsk that it has still not yet conquered in exchange for peace.
President Trump has backed down on his new tariffs and sanctions threat against Russia and is instead meeting with Russia’s President Vladimir Putin in Alaska. The sanctions were meant to be instituted by August 10th unless Russia stops its war in Ukraine and were originally prompted due to Russia’s daily airstrikes against civilians and cities. Yesterday, Russia launched up to fifty drones and two cruise missiles against Ukrainian cities.
