The US and the UAE, along with Saudi Arabia and Egypt want the Sudanese Army to stop fighting against the genocidal and terrorist militia, the Rapid Support Forces, after the Sudanese Armed Forces made a decisive victory and liberated the region of North Kordofan. In response to the victory of the Sudanese Armed Forces against the RSF, the USA and the UAE now want to stop the military advance of the Sudanese government to allow the RSF to regroup and consolidate their positions. The US and the UAE issued a ridiculous statement signed with Egypt and Saudi Arabia demanding peace just right when the SAF is making significant military victories against the RSF terrorists.
The RSF are currently heavily surrounded with their main routes to Khartoum and the centre of the country mostly cut off and are now cornered in the south-west of the country and in the north-west corner at the Libyan Border Triangle. The RSF can collapse within weeks and even days if foreign support for it mainly by the UAE is withdrawn. Other entities which are still supporting the RSF are Chad and Khalifa Haftar.
This is not the first time that the UAE has called for peace after the SAF made significant military victories against the RSF.ย The calls for peace are however, not at all genuine because they are being made to protect the RSF and its existence which would effectively prolong terror, conflict and genocide.
On the other hand, the Sudanese Army is not interested in giving a free ticket out for the RSF and Sudanese government forces are a in very ideal strategic position to continue the fight, and eventually defeat the RSF.
The Rapid Support Forces are responsible for the worst war crimes in Africa since the Rwandan genocide. The RSF and its leader, Hemedti, are responsible for a series of war crimes including genocide in Darfur, mass rape, mass torture and pillage. The RSF frequently use systematic torture and civilian killings as part of their military strategy. Basically, the RSF hold whole towns and villages hostages and uses the civilians it conquers as blackmail and leverage and achieve concessions from the Sudanese government and the international community.
General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and the Sudanese military command have made it very clear that they will not make peace with the RSF and they will continue the war until the RSF is destroyedย – a victory which could come quicker than expected as the RSF keep losing ground.
