According to the Sudanese Doctors Network, the Rapid Support Forces have abducted up to 150 youths and children after their attack on the Al-Zallataya mine in the South Kordofan region, Sudan. Clashes between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the RSF in South Kordofan are ongoing. The attack comes after the RSF declared a humanitarian ceasefire on Monday. The RSF is well-known to violate ceasefire agreements and to use such agreements as leverage for its military strategy to prepare further attacks.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Sudanese Transition Council, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burahn, has penned an article on the Washington Post condemning the UAE’s participation in this war, and denied the reductive description of this war as a conflict between two generals. General Burhan says that Sudan is fighting for survival in a proxy wart funded by the UAE.
There are multiple reports of hundreds of Sudanese civilians crossing the desert into Libya with many of these immigrants being captured and detained by the Libyan security forces. Many of the Sudanese immigrants trying to cross the Mediterranean are reportedly Sudanese.
Separately, other press reports have revealed that Chinese military technicians were used by the RSF to operate the Chinese drones provided to them by the UAE.
