After the meeting with European leaders in London, President Volodymyr Zelensky went down to Brussels to meet EU leaders and NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte. President Zelensky reserved his comments to the Ukrainian press and The Washington Post and reiterated his old position that giving up territory violates the Ukrainian constitution. President Zelensky is once again stating that there will be no territorial concessions to Russia.
Separately, speaking to the Ukrainian press and Ukrainska Pravda, the head of Ukraine’s intelligence services Kyrylo Budanov, said that the Ukrainian army will keep fighting against Russia until it recaptures all the lost territory.
Russia is pressuring Ukraine to capitulate via a pact it has agreed with the US and is using Ukrainian civilians as its hostages over ongoing pressure to force Ukraine to accept Russia’s demands. By murdering as many Ukrainian civilians as possible, Russia hopes it puts enough pressure on Ukraine to stop resisting its invasion.
In comments he gave to the press yesterday, President Zelensky said that Ukraine is currently depending on Europe’s support. He is currently in Brussels to raise capital for Ukraine’s budget which has a short-fall of more than €100 billion for the next two years. The EU Commission is scrambling to reach a deal with Belgium over the use of frozen Russian assets to address Ukraine’s shortfall.
