The Public Broadcasting prime time TV show-host, Ricky Caruana has published message with sexual expletives after being outed for receiving up to €10,000 to advertise Project Green. Project Green is Minister Miriam Dalli’s project, which aims to plant trees and renovate public gardens and spaces. Project Green also specialises in mass public advertising apart from planting trees.
Ricky Caruana also delivered a very ingratiating interview with Minister Miriam Dalli on his public TV show. The interview, broadcast on TVM, featured the Minister parroting propaganda talking points instead of answering hard questions and being held to account.
The message he published is too explicit to be translated and also rather gross. This is not the first time he reacts this way. The clown prides himself in being abrasive, offensive, explicit and contrarian. Now, he is being paid by the government to conduct its propaganda campaigns. Ricky Caruana has also helped rehabilitate the previously high-ranking criminals within the Labour Party.
Note, that this is also a gross violation of the Media Freedom Act as the government is effectively using public funds to sponsor its own propaganda at the expense of the independent press. The government is issuing millions of Euros every year in public funds for its propaganda which is partly spread to various media outlets or propagandists like Ricky Caruana, strategically ensuring control over the information sphere, diluting the effect of the independent press and challenging intendent publishers with financial challenges.
