The Maltese Herald has confirmed with Police sources that the Police have re-opened the FIAU’s file about Social Housing Minister Roderick Galdes. The file had been previously submitted to the Police as early as 2021 but the Police eventually shelved the case leading to no prosecutions. The Prime Minister has also confirmed that the Police have re-opened their investigation.
The Police have been compelled to re-open the FIAU’s old file for review after new details were revealed by Jason Azzopardiย and the press. The FIAU has also been updating its research and re-stablished contact with the Police over the case. Jason Azzopardi has also filed a Police report and is making new and very detailed allegations about Minister Galdes.
Jason Azzopardi has claimed that Minister Galdes has bought a property in the Dolomites region of Italy and received rental income which he did not declare. The Social Housing Minister bought a penthouse at a very discounted price fromย the owners of Excel Investments, who were also awarded a โฌ27 million contract from the Housing Authority.
Despite the fact the Police have conducted investigations on multiple Labour MPs, no prosecution has ever been brought forward with Police Commissioner Angelo Gafa, consistently covering up for Labour MPs.
