Storm Harry leaves trail of devastation in Marsaskala and surrounding areas

Several images and videos sent to The Maltese Herald by our readers indicate the level of destruction wreaked by Storm Harry overnight. The seaside town of Marsaskala was particularly hard hit with the area around the Parish Church and the seafront totally impassable due to seawater flooding and debris.

No major incidents were reported however. The Zonqor area was also hit hard with parts of the walkway collapsing. The Civil Protection Department have repeatedly advised people to stay inside and avoid going out if not for an emergency.

Meanwhile large parts of Delimara in Marsaxlokk have been reported to be without power for at least 14 hours. The Primary School in Marsaskala is reportedly inaccessible due to damage suffered as well as flooding.
