Labour Party Deputy-Leader and MEP Alex Agius Saliba called President Donald Trump a bully yesterday at the European Parliament and said that the European should be consistent in its response to President Trump. He then said that the EU should continue legislating on big tech and referred to the Digital Omnibus. He added that Europe should be more involved in foreign affairs including on Gaza.
He did not explicitly mention Greenland or Denmark in his remarks.
His position contrasts with that of the Prime Minister who refused to condemn the US President or support Denmark and Greenland.
Alex Agius Saliba who often made appeasing statements with regard to Russia has never reserved the same descriptions for Vladimir Putin and has recently also praised China. He has also consistently voted against augmenting European defence.
