Across different countries in Europe, the far-right has one thing in common: it is broadly aligned with Russia and aspires to bring Europe closer to it.
This bizarre foreign policy position, whereby political parties in Europe actively support a neighbouring power that is at war with a European country is unprecedented. Historically, even European communist parties began distancing themselves from the Soviet Union following its invasion of Hungary in 1956, and the Italian Communist Party—famously one of Moscow’s closest allies—eventually broke with its Soviet patron under the leadership of Enrico Berlinguer.
The situation today is markedly different, with far-right parties actively campaigning for a Russian victory in Ukraine and advocating for the resumption of energy and trade deals with Russia, despite its clear imperial ambitions towards Europe, as well as repeated threats to nuke us and freeze us to death by cutting our energy supply. You can read more about this political development here.
In addition, compounding the external influence that these supposed patriotic parties are spreading in Europe via their Russian alliance, they also subject to the external and foreign influence of billionaire tech oligarchs in the such as Elon Musk and Peter Thiel. It is a fact that the far-right parties in Europe are the biggest vessels and proxies to foreign billionaires and rogue states for foreign interference in Europe.
The alliance between the European far-right right in terms of policy and ideology is already treasonous as it is: the far-right is but it goes even further than that. The far-right in Europe is actively collaborating with Russia, sharing sensitive European intelligence with Russia, and coordinating foreign policy and statements together.
Hungary’s Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó has been fully exposed for the traitor that he is. Russia is currently supporting Viktor Orban’s Fidesz party in Hungary’s ongoing general election campaign. This is just one of the favours that Russia is returning to Viktor Orban after Péter Szijjártó been exposed to have leaked confidential EU Council discussions with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov.
The far-right Germans are also taking their treason to another level by sharing confidential documents and information on the EU and Germany with the Russian intelligence. These intelligence sharing activities also being well coordinated. for example with detailed parliamentary questions on Germany’s defences with information that Russia is interested in.
These are very serious political matters that concern Europe’s security and the behaviour of the far-right is not legitimate and neither loyal to our democracies. The far-right in Europe has become a foreign-proxy funded by foreign interests that are hostile to Europe and its democracies. These far-right political parties are not legitimate political players but parasites that are eating Europe from within. The European awakening that counters the far-right is growing but Europe and the EU have to do more to combat the ongoing foreign interference in European politics.
