Cocaine use in Malta has been increasing in the past few years as heroin use declined. The shifting trend is part of economic and cultural changes. One of the major challenges with drug use is drug trafficking and drug trafficking can go unpunished if the financial crimes related to it are depanlised – just like what is happening in Malta.
Drug traffickers don’t usually import or sell the drugs themselves – they have their own runners and employees and they finance operations. This means that drug traffickers are very often caught and charged not over drug hauls but for their financial crimes. By depanelisng financial crimes such as money-laundering and tax evasion, the Labour government didn’t just aid and abet its corrupt politicians, it also aided and abetted a wide swathe of criminals who depend on money-laundering to move their illegal proceeds.
Here is a list of drug traffickers who got away with it and are greatly benefitting from Labour’s new reforms.
Petar Bajic
Petar Bajic who has some of his assets frozen and was charged with drug trafficking is believed to have fled Malta altogether. He is part of the Serbian-crime network in Malta which has become heavily involved in drugs.
Frankie Grima
ย Frankie Grima, an old-time cocaine trafficker and restaurateur is now semi-retired in the drug business but still has the capability to launder money.
Alan Muscat (Galletta)
Alan Muscat (Galletta) runs a Sopranos-like mob with various ongoing illegal operations including drugs. He’s also part of the Armier club where drug trafficker sand criminals have occupied public land andย own boat-houses.

Lilu l-King
We’ve also written a lot about Lilu l-King, whose actual name is Muhammed Al-Musrati. He’s a drug warlord from Libya and he has been allowed to stay in Malta to terrorise Maltese civilians in the streets as part of the Labour Party’s government policy to collect all the wealthy criminals in the world and turn Malta into another Dubai.
Charlie ฤฆexa and the Ciantar Family
Charlotte Ciantar was to be arraigned in Court over financial crimes such as tax evasion and money-laundering. Charlotte Ciantar is Aaron Ciantarโs sister and Aaron has been friends with incumbent Prime Minister Robert Abela since they were in their 20s. Aaron Farrugia is the son of Charlire ฤฆexa, a previous cocaine trafficker. For some reason that was never publicly disclosed, the Police discontinued their case against Charlotte Ciantar.
Paul Attard
Paul Attard is a dangerous drug trafficker and goods importer who was freed from drug trafficking charges in Italy due to legal complications. The Maltese Police consider him as a dangerous suspect who is consistently monitored over his actions.
