We have submitted a Freedom of Information request to the Housing Authority in relation to an emerging scandal about public properties being sold to government employees and Labour supporters, including employees to the Housing Authority itself.
We have asked the Housing Authority to provide a list of the properties that were sold and rented to government employees including to Housing Authority employees. Two particular government employees, one with the Housing Authority have been promised a public property sale in exchange for their vote. These individuals have also been photographed at Labour Party rallies with Labour politicians.
If confirmed, this act is at face-value a prosecutorial offence and a corrupt act.
Housing Authority CEO Matthew Zerafa has refused to reply to my questions by email, which is odd, given that he has always spoken at length with me whenever I met him in Malta.
