US launches new wave of airstrikes against Iran

The US has launched a new wave of airstrikes against Iranian targets in the Persian Gulf. US President Donald Trump said that the attacks are punishment to Iran following its latest attacks on vessels trying to pass through the Strait of Hormuz and are not proportional.

Iran has been targeting vessels which pass through the Strait of Hormuz without its permission as it seeks to fully assert control over the strait. The US government has consistently stated that this would be no tolerated.

Footage below is reportedly from an attack at the Port of Shahid Haqqani in Bandar Abbas in the Persina Gulf.

The attacks come as NATO leaders gather in Ankara, Turkey for the annual NATO summit.
