Israel bombs Syria’s Abu al-Duhur Airport

Israel has bombed Syria’s Abu al-Duhur airport which hosted several old Assad-era military jets including two Su-22s, several L-39 trainers and also helicopters.

Israel has been systematically bombing Syria’s air-defences and what remained of the Assad-era air force in its fight to ensure it controls the skies over Damascus and Southern Syria. Israel also bombed air-defences in Syria which were provided by Turkey. Israel is currently also occupying parts of southern Syria in Quneitra.

Previous press reports claimed that US President Donald Trump had prevented Israel from launching any attacks on Syria. There has been no statement made by the US or Israel over the attacks.
