Here’s how a survey could help in the selection of jurors (by Ingram Bondin)

Everyone is expecting answers on why the jurors decided to acquit Yorgen Fenech of the charges against him despite the overwhelming evidence against him. The public is also demanding answers about a survey of potential jurors conducted by Vincent Marmara on behalf of Yorgen Fenech’s legal defence team under a false name.

Below is an explanation by Ingram Bondin of how the survey could have aided Yorgen Fenech’s defence team in the selection of jurors. Bondin, who holds a PhD in Mathematics, explains that surveying people on their views of Yorgen Fenech and Daphne Caruana Galizia helps identify the majority opinion in different demographic sections and social groups.

For example, a survey might show that men have more sympathy for Yorgen Fenech than women, that young people have more sympathy for Daphne Caruana Galizia than older generations, and so on.

The survey is just one of the various irregularities that are being alleged to have occurred during the trial, raising hopes for a strong appeal by the Attorney-General, although calls for investigations are also growing.

  1. […] revealed about the jury and the trial may provide the Prosecutor with strong grounds for […]

  2. Matthew Caruana Galizia also said that a number of the people who received the calls for the survey, were actually on the pre-published list of jurors from which the jurors are then picked.

The second methodology seems more plausible. It takes little to get from the list of jurors on the Government Gazette, et their id numbers and in turn get the mobile numbers, especially with the reach that these criminals have.

  3. Skond il-gazzetta tal-gvern tad- 9 ta’ Gunju l lista tal gurati li kienu kwalifikati biex iservu fil-qorti kriminali ghax xahar ta’ Lulju kien jammonta ghal 80 ruh.

    1. Il-mistoqsija hija, min kien jaf liema gurati kellhom iservu f’Lulju 2026:

      1. Hekk kif intghazlu mill-Qorti fil…(data)?
      2. Hekk kif il-lista intbaghtet lid-DOI (parti mill-OPM) biex tigi ppubblikata fil-gazetta tal-gvern… (data)?

      Min ser jinvestiga?
