Sudanese residents cheer and celebrate as the Sudanese Army liberates Sennar from the RSF

The Sudanese Armed Forces have made further gains in their counteroffensive against the genocidal Rapid Support Forces (Janjaweed militias) after liberating the city of Sinjah, the capital of Sennar. Situated south of Khartoum, on the Blue Nile tributary, the city of Sinjah was occupied by the RSF until last week. Residents cheered with the news of the city’s liberation.

The Sudanese Army has urged the government of South Sudan not to provide refuge for the RSF terrorists who are believed to have fled the state of Sennar to South Sudan.

In retaliating for their losses the RSF have been committing atrocities againstย civilians, but the Sudanese government is determined to recapture all the territory currently under the control of RSF. The Sudanese government is also pressuring the US and the EU to designate the RSF as a terrorist organisation.
