Turkey bombed and killed civilians in the area of Tishreen Dam, in the Kurdish controlled north-eastern Syria, Tishreen Dam is a site of constant clashes between the Kurdish SDF and the Turkish-backed SNA.
Turkey bombed civilians yesterday, and the day before targeting a civilian convoy and protesters in the Tishreen area. Up to 19 civilians were killed including women and children.
The Tishreen Dam, located on the Euphrates River east of Aleppo,ย provides electricity for up to 1 million people. This is not the first time that Turkey targeted civilian infrastructure with airstrikes in the Kurdish controlled areas of Syria.
Turkey is conducting a campaign against the Kurdish armed forces in north-eastern Syria with the backing of Germany and the EU. The Kurdish forces which control north-eastern Syria, refuse to lay down their weapons in their bid to retain their autonomy. The Syrian government is engaged in talks with the Kurdish leaders to arrive at unifying solution.
