US bans weapons sales to Ukraine: Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk calls to hand Russian assets to Ukraine

The Head of the Ukrainian Parliament’s defense committee, Roman Kostenko, announced earlier today that the US has banned weapons sales to Ukraine. This is one of the first decisions in a series of decisions the US is planning to take to roll back its support of Ukraine and dismantle its defense infrastructure in Europe. President Trump is strategically aligning with Russia over Ukraine and Europe and is also mulling a US troop withdrawal from Europe.

Meanwhile, the European response to President Trump’s discussions with Russia have been very muted, saying only that Europe and Ukraine have to be involved in peace talks with Russia. European leaders have agreed to increase defence expenditure and new military aid to Ukraine, but no new measures are being taken to help Ukraine win the war.

Russia is currently assembling an army for its renewed Spring offensive which will include up to 150,000 men a significant number of ballistic missiles from North Korea.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk is demanding to use frozen Russian assets to fund European aid to Ukraine. The European Union is holding up to €200 billion in Russian Central Bank assets at Euroclear Bank in Belgium.
