Syrian Security Forces enter the Jaramah neighbourhood of Damascus waving the Druze flag

Following last week’s violent incident at the Jaramah neighborhood in Damscus, Syrian Security Forces have entered and taken control of the neighbourhood in coordination with Druze and community leaders. Syrian Security Forces entered the Jaramah neighbourhood waving a Druze flag signaling there is no conflict between the Syrian government and the Druze community.

Israel is using the Druze community in the south of Syria to cause unrest in the country and find excuses to extend their occupation. Despite Israel’s efforts to separate the Syrian Druze community from the Syrian state, Syrian Druze community leaders are increasingly reiterating their position in favour of a one and united Syria.
