Israel keeps bombing Syria: Lebanese Druze Community Leader says Israel using Druze soldiers to occupy Syria

Israel continues to carry out bombings against Syria with the latest airstrikes being reported in Tartus. The Israeli Defense Forces also bombed a Syrian Army base in Tell Al-Mall in the Quneitra province.

Israel is using the Druze community in Syria as pretext for its occupation and invasion of the south of Syria, and is now also threatening to expand its occupation of Syria as far as Damascus.

Druze community leaders in Syria have organised their communities in armed groups with a policy that favours Syrian integration and the unity of the Syrian nation under its current and official borders. Syrian Druze armed groups are flying the Syrian flag and brandishing maps of Syria with all its official borders intact.

During an emergency meeting by the Lebanese Druze community in Beirut, Lebanon, the prominent Druze community leader and previous leader of the Progressive Socialist Party Walid Jamblatt accused Israel of using Druze soldiers to repress Palestinians and occupy Syria. He warned the Druze community not to fall for Israel’s tricks and said that he will soon be travelling to Syria to once again meet with President Ahmed al-Sharaa.
