BREAKING: Kurdish Syrian Democratic Forces sign integration document with the Syrian government

Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa and Leader of the Kurdish Syrian Democratic Forces General Mazloum Abdi  have signed a peace document where the SDF will be integrated with the regular and official Syrian Army. The surprise signing took place earlier today in Damasucs.

On the 17th of February the leader of the PKK, Abdullah Ocalan requested the PKK and all armed groups to lay down their weapons.

The document signed between President Sharaa and General Abdi has 8 points, which are:

Based on a meeting between President Ahmed Al-Sharaa and Mr Mazloum Abdi on Monday, March 10, 2025, the following agreements were reached:

  1. The rights of all Syrians will be respected including the right of representation and participation in all state institutions based on merit, and with no discrimination against ethnic or religious grounds.
  2. The Kurdish community will be recognised as an integral part of Syria with full constitutional rights.
  3. A ceasefire to commence and fighting to stop.
  4. All civil and military institutions under the SDF will be integrated with the Syrian state.
  5. The right of return to all displaced people.
  6. The Syrian state will be supported in its fight against the remnants of the Assad regime.
  7. To reject all calls for division and hate speech.
  8. An executive committee to oversee the implementation of this agreement by the end of the year.
