Mass shooting at aid distribution centre in Gaza leaves at least 33 people dead and 200 injured

Yesterday morning at the Tel- al-Sultan neighborhood in Rafah, a mass shooting took place at an aid distribution centre operated by the “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation” (GHF). The IDF denied it was responsible for the shooting but in separate statements it also stated that it was responsible for opening the aid centres.

The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation has been registered in Switzerland and is run by US private military contractors. Yesterday’s shooting was the second mass shooting at an aid distribution centre operated by the GHF in Rafah last week.

British doctors working at the Nasser Hospital in Gaza said that up to 200 people were injured as a result of the attack and that people were targeted deliberately. At least 33 people were reportedly killed.

The IDF released limited footage of armed gunmen in plain clothes shooting at Palestinians reaching humanitarian aid. Although the IDF denies responsibility for the recent incidents, there have been previous and documented instances when the IDF deliberately targeted and shot at Palestinians trying to reach humanitarian aid.

Israel is currently conducting a genocidal campaign in Gaza called “Gideon’s Chariots” with the aim of displacing the people of Gaza. Mass killings of Palestinians by the IDF are taking place on a daily basis.
