Syrian security forces enter Suwayda city again to prevent complete takeover by Arab Bedouins

An agreement has been reached between the Syrian government, Israel, Turkey and the United States for the Syrian state security forces to enter once again in the Suwayda Governate in order to prevent a complete takeover of the region by Arab Bedouins.

Arab Bedouins have rallied against Druze separatists militants and traveled to Suwayda to challenge the Israeli-backed Druze separatists. The massive rally by the Bedouins came after multiple reports of Druze separatists conducting revenge attacks against Sunni Arabs. The Syrian Army was initially forced to withdraw from the city of Suwayda following a series of Israeli airstrikes. The EU Council President condemned Israel’s attacks.

There are reports of crimes committed by the Syrian Army on the first day of its entry to Suwayda, including an unverified attack on the Suwayda national hospital. Both sides have committed extra-judicial killings and criminal acts.

US Ambassador Tom Barack has hailed this new agreement which will see the Syrian state take over security in Suwayda once again. Druze separatists militants as well as the Bedouin fighters are being called by the state to disarm.

Israel is attempting to stoke secretariat tensions in Syria to divide and destabilise the country in its own interests. Israel is currently conducting an illegal invasion in Syria which started in December as Israel took over new areas in the Golan Heights and occupied the Quneitra Governate.

The top religious authorities in Syria have issued a Fatwa condemning the Druze separatist militants in Suwayda who are collaborating with Israel. The Fatwa also condemned sectarian violence of all kind and warned all parties not to kill women and children.

The White Helmets have also issued a statement and said that their regional head in Suwayda was kidnapped by Druze militants while he was evacuating a UN team out of the city
