House Oversight Committee releases first batch of Epstein files: Survivors to hold a press conference later today

The Congressional Oversight Committee has released the first batch of files about the case of Jeffrey Epstein, although most of the files and details were already public. No files were released from the FBI raid of Jeffrey Epstein’s property of Saint James Island in 2019 but more files are expected to be released later on. Many of the files released have been redacted.

In early August, the House Oversight Committee subpoenaed the Department of Justice to release the files on the Jeffrey Epstein case. It also subpoenaed Ghislaine Maxwell, who poured praise over President Donald Trump in her testimony. The repository was uploaded here.

The files in the Jeffrey Epstein case are currently at the centre of attention in the United States after Attorney General Pam Bondi contradicted herselfโ€”first saying that Epsteinโ€™s โ€œclient listโ€ was on her desk, only for the Department of Justice to say that no such list exists. President Donald Trump said that the scandal about the files of Jeffrey Epstein is a hoax and that previous president Barack Obama put him in the files. US President Donald Trump was a close friend of Jeffrey Epstein.

Later on today at 10.20AM (Washington), victims of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell will hold a press conference at The House Triangle in Washington. The event is being hosted by Rep. Ro Khanna and Rep. Thomas Massie, making it a bipartisan effort. A promotional poster has been released (featured above).
