The Russian Army has finally infiltrated the city of Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region after shelling and bombing it throughout the year. Civilians were evacuated as of early January. The Russian Army has infiltrated Pokrovsk through a small corridor in Zvirove and unconfirmed reports by Russian sources on Telegram state that the Russians have already taken over the central train station of the city.
Russia has lost more than 100,000 soldiers in its attempt to take over Pokrovsk this year and the battle is ongoing.
In an interview with NBC, President Zelensky said that Ukraine wants peace but won’t give any of the occupied territories to Russia. The Ukrainian President added that Ukraine is not just fighting for territory but is fighting for survival. You can watch the full interview below.
In a meeting with President Donald Trump last week, President Zelensky offered Ukraine’s drone technology to the US in exchange for Tomahawk missiles. President Trump did not accept the offer and reiterated that Ukraine has to capitulate to Russia by giving up its lost territories.
Vladimir Putin and President Donald Trump are expected to meet in Budapest with the European Commission welcoming the meeting. Vladimir Putin currently has a pending arrest warrant against him by the International Criminal Court.
