Industrial output declines by 2.3% in September

According to the latest NSO statistics, industrial output took a hard sweep downward in September declining by 2.3%. Compared to September of last year, it was 1.3% lower.

Industrial production dipped in April before rebounding again in May and Summer and kept trending higher until August.

The downward trend occurred mainly in chemical and pharmaceutical products output that declined by 8.1% and other manufacturing that declined by 11.7%. Other factors affecting this decline may be the closure of a factory as it moved its operations to Mexico and China.

Food products output increased by 6.9% and computer and electronic equipment increased by 4.3%.

Industrial production in Europe is trending upwards.
