UAE regular military cargo flights to Africa take a pause after State Secretary Marco Rubio’s comments

According to military-flight spotters tracking UAE military cargo flights, the UAE paused their regular military cargo flights to Africa, however military cargo flights from Somalia to Libya are continuing. The pause came after comments made by the US State Secretary Marco Rubio demanding the UAE to stop weapons shipments to the Rapid Support Forces.

The US State Secretary Marco Rubio also held a phone call with the UAE’s Foreign Minister, Abdullah bin Zayed al Al Nahyan. No details were published.

As part of its PR campaign, the UAE issued a statement about a fake story with regard to a shipment from the UAE to Port Sudan – no weapons shipments go from the UAE to Port Sudan. The UAE is currently in a propaganda overdrive trying to whitewash its involvement in the ongoing genocide in Darfur by the Rapid Support Forces. The UAE is the largest arms provider to the RSF. The UAE has also sent a troupe of propagandists and online influencers at the United Nations Human Rights Council meeting in Geneva held yesterday.

Meanwhile, the Humanitarian Research Lab of the Yale School of Public Health keeps producing evidence of the RSF’s war crimes of their massacre in Al-Fashir with recent images showing mass graves at the Abu Shouk displacement camp.

Fighting is ongoing between the RSF and the Sudanese Armed Forces in the Western and North Kordofan states. SAF General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan declared a nationwide mobilisation to defeat the RSF at a mosque in the Al-Jazira state.

The Maltese Herald is currently conducting a lobbying campaign to create pressure on the RSF to release Muammar Ibrahim and all abducted journalists by the RSF.
