President Zelensky crashes out over wasteful talks and “historical documents”

Ukrainian President Volodomyr Zelensky has crashed out over wasteful “peaceful” talks held with Russia and mediated by the US. The US is mediating talks between Russia and Ukraine via its representatives Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff who are pressuring Ukraine to capitulate to Russia.

In a strongly-worded post, President Zelensky,  said that he does not need history lessons or “historical documents”  and that he knows the history of his country more than Vladimir Putin who is using history to justify his maximalist demands. The head of the Russian delegation is being led by Vladimir Medinsky, a Kremlin propagandist and pseudo-historian.

During talks, Russia has retained its maximalist demands including its demand for the Donbas region which is still not under full Russian control. Vladimir Putin is making historical justifications for his demands is pressing with a continuation of the war if Ukraine does not capitulate. Russia has also refused a counter-peace proposal by Ukraine and Europe.

Russia bombed Ukrainian civilians and infrastructure relentlessly during the so called peace talks leaving most Ukrainians without electricity during freeing temperatures.

Russia is still attacking Ukraine daily with drones and missiles but the volume of these drones and missiles has decreased substantially during the past week as Russia suffers productivity challenges amid a growling economic crisis. The Ukrainian military is also making significant advances in the front-lines in the Zaporizhzhia, and Pokrovsk direction.
