Air defence active in the Gulf: Greece sends F-16s to Cyprus

Greece has deployed up to four F-16s in Cyprus to conduct air-defence operations after Iran targeted the British base of Akrotiri with a drone. Earlier today another explosion was heard nearby the base but no incident has been confirmed.

Air defences over Cyprus are active including with British fighter jets, Patiot missiles and an additional 4 F-16s which have been deployed by Greece.

Air defences in the Gulf countries are active including in Qatar, the UAE and Kuwait with hundreds of Iranian drones and missiles successfully shot down. Casualties were also reported in Israel after Iran launched a barrage of ballistic missiles towards Tel Aviv.

Flights in the UAE were diverted once again today, but some flights managed to take off safely today including an Etihad flight from Abu Dhabi to Frankfurt.
