Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian praises Spain for its spat with the US

The incumbent President of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian praised Spain for its position in refusing to lend its bases to the US for strikes against Iran. President Pezeshkian, who is still alive, and is leading a three-man council that rules the country after the death of the Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, applauded Spain’s responsible position against the “Zionist-American coalition’s flagrant human rights violations and military aggression against countries, including Iran”.

He also said that Spain shows that ethics and awakened conscience still exists in the West.

President Pezeshkian led a government that massacred up to tens of thousands of Iranians who protested in the streets including many students. Ali Khamenei’s son, Mojtaba Khamenei may still succeed his father as Supreme Leader after reports state that he survive an Israeli strike that targeted him and other clerics.

Military operations against Iran are containing by the US and Israel targeting military and IRGC sites but objectives do not include regime change.
