Pedro Sanchez tells Xi Jinping he is “on the right side of history” as China plans to invade Taiwan

There was a lot of fawning and ingratiation by Spain’s Premier Pedro Sanchez in Beijing as he met Xi Jinping, and told him that he was on the right side of history in the backdrop of international events. The pair enjoyed a gratifying conversation against President Donald Trump and the US war on Iran.

China has also condemned the US blockade of Iranian side of the Strait of Hormuz and is calling for the immediate lifting of the blockade. Some Chinese ships were denied access to the Strait by the US navy but others could successfully exit.

China is currently making plans to invade Taiwan.

The Spanish Prime Minister is fostering a closer relationship with China as he hails “a multipolar order”. This is his fourth visit to China in four years.

In his latest trip, the Spanish government signed a series of agreements with China on food, research, culture, education and high-level diplomatic dialogue. The official Spanish government statement can be found here. with the Premier’s speech here.
