Iran and the US are to resume talks in Islamabad tomorrow according to a latest statement made by US President Donald Trump. Talks were previously suspended as the Iranian regime refuses to give up its right to nuclear enrichment. The Iranian regime renewed their naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz yesterday, but vessel traffic from both sides of the Strait did not end entirely with tracking-data showing some vessels passing through.
Kuwait is declaring force majeure and a total halt of any shipments due to the uncertainty of the situation.
Reuters is reporting that the Pakistani Army Chief has informed President Trump that the Iranian regime sees the US blockade of their side of the Strait as an obstacle towards talks. The US Navy has also seized an Iranian cargo vessel as part of its blockade operations.
US aircraft have already landed in Islamabad ahead of the talks, however, there is still no official confirmation from the Iranian authorities regarding their participation, with Tehran signaling uncertainty and, at times, indicating that it may not send a delegation at all.
