Israel captures another town in the south of Syria following pro-Assadist rebellion

Yesterday, Israel captured the town of Majdoulia in the Quneitra countryside of the south of Syria. Majdoulia is the second town Israel captured following the pro-Assadist rebellion in Latakia after first capturing the town of Jamla. Israel is exploiting sectarian tensions in Syria to weaken the new Syrian government and annex more Syrian territory in the south. The new IDF Chief Eyal Zamir also visited several IDF outposts in Syria.

Yesterday, the Syrian Ministry of Information released a statement to counteract the deluge of disinformation that was spread by pro-Assad influencers and pro-Russian media about the events in Latakia. The Syrian Ministry of Information stated that a disinformation campaign was being carried out with the aim of stoking sectarian tensions and creating instability in the country. This campaign included the spread of false information, along with photos and footage from previous years.

The Syrian government also admitted that there were official military government units that took advantage of the situation and committed war crimes, but these individuals are being detained and sought for justice. President Ahmed al-Sharaa reiterated that no one is above the law, and a judicial inquiry has also been initiated by the Presidency to discover the full extent of the abuses that took place.
