Alex Borg is using the Labour government’s arguments to justify the Fort Chambray high-end resort project

Alex Borg is using the same government’s rhetoric and arguments to justify handing over Fort Chambray to a handful of developers to turn it into a high-end resort. In yet another podcast by Ricky Caruana of an ingratiating delivery of political propaganda and lies, Alex Borg justified the high-end project by saying that the Knights used Fort Chambray as a holiday resort.

Surprisingly, this is the same thing the Minister for Culture, Owen Bonnici said about the history of fort to justify the project.

Absurd. Why doesn’t Alex Borg join the Labour Party right away? He’s mostly in agreement with the Labour government’s policies and doesn’t seem to be very interested in fighting Labour on its corruption.

Alex Borg consistently defended this project and even lied about it in writing by saying that the hotel developers will restore the old walls at their own expense: this was false. The government is to be paying for the restoration of the old walls.

Fort Chambray was never completed as a project (it started 1749) but it was intended to become a fully fledged citadel. It was not a “hokliday resort” and Gozitan knights didn’t exist (the Knights were foreigners and not Maltese).

Apparently, politicians can start rewriting history and get confirmation about it by Ricky Caruana.

This is not the first time that Alex Borg ha enthusiastically supported large Gozitan developers and has previously praised and supported Gozitan developer Joseph Portelli. Recently, he nominated Charles Bonello for PN Secretary-General.

Strangely, the Nationalist Party still hasn’t taken a position over Fort Chambray although its MPs signed a petition against the project. Sources in the Nationalist Party contacted us earlier today and informed us that there is an ongoing internal discussion about this issue with many PN MPs and even election candidates venting frustration at the fact that Alex Borg is being allowed to dictate the party’s policy over Fort Chambray.

Alex Borg has also been accused of working closely with his Labour rivals at the expense of his own party. He also consistently stated his admiration for President Donald Trump.
